|The 105 - CRISPR
This new 7-story, 263,500 sf life science building in Boston’s Seaport features laboratory and meeting space as well as a café, fitness center, and outdoor terraces. Developed for Breakthrough Properties, the building now serves as the Research and Development Headquarters of CRISPR, the revolutionary life sciences company.
As the structural engineer for both the base building and CRISPR fitout, Odeh developed key design solutions to allow for cantilevered floor plates at each level, using an innovative design of small exterior perimeter hanger columns that allowed for maximum tenant space with the most window area possible. Odeh also introduced concrete shear cores that improved the building schedule and reduced the cost of the steel framing systems.
