Attleboro
High School

Architect

Kaestle Boos

The new Attleboro High School is currently under construction adjacent to the existing high school (to be demolished at a later date). This new comprehensive high school will include both traditional and vocational learning spaces over four floors. The first level will house a number of community use areas including the gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, and vocational spaces including automotive and the restaurant. The remaining floors will include classrooms and the learning commons/media center and can be securely separated from the community areas of the school if required. The new facility will be constructed on the existing site and will also house the District Administration offices.

The structural system is an economical steel frame, carefully coordinated by the team to maximize efficiency and minimize mechanical system clashes with steel framing. During construction, the team has used drone photography to monitor foundations and steel erection, comparing images to the building information model to ensure that the design intent is maintained.
